Review

We visited Brickwood midday on a Sunday. The cafe was very busy and the queuing system for tables was unorganised. This gave a bad first impression. We were eventually seated and placed our order.

The food and drink came quite quickly considering how busy it was. To drink I had a mocha, it didn’t seem very chocolaty.

And to eat I had the smashed avocado with poached eggs on sourdough bread. The salmon was extra and it was missing the feta cheese that I asked for.

Pip had a long black to drink.

To eat she had the scrambled eggs with extra salmon on toasted sourdough. The scrambled eggs were quite salty.

The staff seemed somewhat uninterested. The man who served us didn’t write down our order and unsurprisingly we didn’t get exactly what we asked for. Pip’s meal was missing the salmon she requested and mine was missing feta cheese. The missing salmon was brought out promptly when we asked for it again.

Brickwood is quite expensive. We paid about £14 each for a pretty average meal and drink.

Overall

Not the best lunch I’ve had in Streatham. The food wasn’t amazing, the service wasn’t great and it’s quite expensive.

There is a cool drawing of a dinosaur on the wall though…
