Brighton Way Has Closed

On the 4th of July 2017 the Brighton Way restaurant/bar on Streatham High Road closed. It was all a bit sudden. It had been open for about three years and then they posted this message on Facebook:

The message Brighton Way posted on their Facebook page to announce their closure

I never visited Brighton Way as I had seen mixed reviews on Facebook and Trip Advisor. One reviewer even make accusations of food poisoning after their visit!

Bad reviews for Brighton Way on Streatham High Road

I hope you’re feeling better now Rochelle!

The Exhibit will replace Brighton Way

In the windows of the now empty Brighton Way building a legal notice has been posted. It relates to a licensing application made to Lambeth Council and it reads:

NOTICE IS GIVEN THAT Exhibit Bars Ltd has applied to Lambeth Council for the grant of a premises licence to use the premises at The Exhibit, 5-7 Streatham High Road, London SW16 1EF for the provision of regulated entertainment, latenight refreshment and the sale by retail of alcohol between the hours of 10:00 and 00:00 Sunday to Thursday, and 10:00 and 02:00 Friday and Saturday…

So it looks like the people who run The Exhibit in Balham (a cinema/bar next to Balham station) are opening a bar in Streatham. I have visited the Exhibit in Balham a few times and I think this will be an excellent replacement for Brighton Way.

Check back here for more information on when The Exhibit will open in Streatham.
